Most people don’t want to see the reality of whats happening - they want relief.

They want the anxiety to stop. The thoughts to slow down. The ache in their chest to go away.

So they chase mindsets, peace, confidence, focus, control. They read books, watch videos, take meds, find mentors, build routines. And for a while, it helps.

Until it doesn’t.

Because none of it touches the root.

The root is not emotional. It’s not mental. It’s existential. It’s the unspoken sense that something is off. That life feels like something you have to survive. That your mind never shuts up. That you’re doing everything right but still feel like something’s missing.

And here’s the uncomfortable truth.

What’s off is not your life. It’s the illusion you’ve built around it.

The Illusion You Don’t Know You’re Living In

Every day, you get hit with thousands of thoughts. Most of them you don’t question. You label, react, and move on. But underneath all of them is a deeper structure. A belief that there’s a "you" in control. A story that your thoughts belong to someone. A self that you cant see.

That story is never challenged, because it feels so normal. But it’s the very thing that keeps you chasing peace instead of living it.

You suffer because you believe the thoughts are about you. You think your emotions are personal. You think your mind is showing you truth. But it’s not. It’s showing you what you’re invested in. What you’re afraid of. What you’re still trying to protect.

This is what Jed McKenna points to when he talks about “truth realization.” It’s not an emotional event. It’s not spiritual. It’s not even particularly mystical.

It’s the moment when you stop believing the voice in your head is telling the truth.

Now are there elements of this that go deeper? Yes. Some of us are born with mental or neuro-chemical situations that almost prevent us from seeing the truth, or awakening, or whatever, but we still have to build a foundation. We fix ourselves from the inside out. This is what we will start doing below.
